Can You Get Pregnant On Your Period

Whether you are trying to conceive or just trying to be cautious, you should be informed on a possibility of getting pregnant on your period. Since the hormone levels before, during and after the period differ from woman to woman, there has been a constant debate about this question. However, some answers are available on this subject.

Even though period is believed to be the safe time when it comes to conceiving, you can still get pregnant during your menstruation. Cause to this is the fact that some women just have very short cycles, meaning that the ovulation time comes right after their period. That increases the risk of getting pregnant. So in case you had a sexual intercourse some time during your menstruation, the sperm inside you could remain alive for a couple of days (even five days, under special conditions). So if you ovulate – you will get pregnant on your period.

That happens because the sperm has an ability to stay alive for a couple of days inside a female body, which leads to conclusion that you do not get pregnant on the same day you actually had an unprotected sex but some time after. The exact time of conception can be determined by a specialist.

Another possibility is to mistake bleeding (spotting) between two cycles for a standard period. That means you are bleeding just at the time of ovulation -the time when you are most fertile. There are even cases of women who ovulate before the menstrual bleeding actually ends. Have that in mind, because having sex before the menstruation or just right after the menstruation can result in pregnancy.

If you want to eliminate the possibility of getting pregnant on your period – make sure to use some method of birth control that suits you and your partner (condoms, pills, etc).

Earliest Possible Signs of Pregnancy

In case you are trying to get pregnant, you must be wondering what the earliest possible signs of pregnancy are. Those signs can be pretty obvious, but there are also plenty of signs that are less visible and that you should know about.

Every pregnancy is different and women have different symptoms in different periods. These guidelines may help you see them on your own body. Visiting your gynecologist is certainly something you should do. Missing period is one of the first signs of pregnancy for most of the women. Morning sickness is also something you should pay your attention to. Your breasts will be the first to change. They will become sore and the area around your nipples will get darker. The veins across your breasts will become more visible. They usually become more sensitive. This feeling is similar to the one you have before your period.

This is surely an important sign. If it is not time for your period do not ignore these signs. Many women also experience craving for certain kinds of foods. Another early symptom can be sensitivity to aromas. This happens because the estrogen levels in your body change.

Your body temperature gets higher than usual and it can make you feel. While most of the signs are physical, emotional changes are common as well. Mood swings may occur as well. Some women can feel quite exited for no obvious reason, while others may feel a bit depressed. Some women claim they just knew they were pregnant. Dreams of being pregnant can also be indicative in certain way.

Speaking of these dreams, although they haven’t been completely explained, there is an assumption that those dreams of being pregnant are somehow related to hormonal changes. Regardless to all these symptoms you should certainly visit your doctor.
