When Are You Most Likely to Get Pregnant
There is no exact calculus which can answer the question: when are you most likely to get pregnant? The perfect timing depends mostly on how regular your menstrual cycle is and for how long it lasts. Menstrual cycle duration varies from female to female and it can be irregular.
The best time to get pregnant is during ovulation which occurs at the middle of menstrual cycle. Ovulation is the part of menstrual cycle when the egg is released from the ovaries and it flows slowly down to the uterus. Middle of menstrual cycle is day 14. This, however, doesn’t mean that you should have sex on 14th day to get pregnant.
You have to know a couple of things on this subject. First, an egg can survive in the uterus 24 to 48 hours after it is released. Sperm, on the other hand, can survive in uterus 5 to 6 days. So it is best to start around day 10 of the cycle and continue with intercourse at least 2 or 3 times a week.

This will increase your chance of getting pregnant as the sperm will be in the uterus waiting for the egg to reach its final destination. Of course, you shouldn’t be trying to get pregnant only during this week as this can prove as problematic with women that have irregular periods, because they can be ovulating any time during their period.
That is why it is recommended that couples have intercourse during the entire month. Besides, it will not make you feel like you’re doing some tedious task, but it will rather make you feel like you’re trying to start a happy family. There are verified scientific researches showing that with this method a normally fertile couple has 80 to 85 percent chances of getting pregnant in their first year.

How to Get Pregnant With Twins
Many parents wonder how to get pregnant with twins. There are many rather silly “instructions” how to get twins based on folklore and inaccurate traditional beliefs.
You should ask around your family to see if there were any previous cases of twins or triplets, etc. Twining is something you inherit either from your father’s side, if you are a male or your mother’s side if you are a female. It is more probable to get twins from your father’s side. These are dizygotic twins.
Considering the heritage from your mother’s side you may inherit a gene that is responsible for hyper-ovulation – an increased rate of egg production in females. So based on this knowledge, if you don’t have any twins in your family history it would certainly raise the odds if you choose a twin for your partner.

It also might help if a woman waits until she is a little bit older when she has her first pregnancy. Older females are more likely to get twins than younger ones. Researches have shown that women over 35 have greater chances to bear twins.
However, the same researches have told us that the older the woman is the greater are the chances to have difficulties during pregnancy. Try having a big family. Research has shown that the more kids you have, the greater are the odds for getting lucky with twins. Don’t believe in traditional fairy-tales.
The smartest thing you can do about getting twins is have a talk with your doctor who will probably advise you to go see a fertility expert. The truth is that although your friends and family may wish you well, unless they are fertility experts them selves – they probably don’t know too much about mechanisms in human body responsible for getting twins.
