Symptoms of Pregnancy Before a Missed Period
Most of women find that a missed menstrual period is a kind of a ‘red alert’. In some cases it means nothing serious, it may be a result of many processes happening inside a woman’s body. Sometimes it is a signal that something may be wrong. And sometimes it is a pregnancy symptom. However, some symptoms may occur before a missed period.
Morning sickness, combined with stomach ache and nausea is a reason why you should check what’s happening. Morning sickness can be an indicator that something has changed in your body. You may notice certain changes regarding your breasts – they may be a bit painful and swollen, or just feel heavier – it happens because of hormonal changes that are already taking place! Sometimes this starts very early – as early as the second week after conception.
Spotting or light vaginal bleeding may occur – it lasts shorter than a normal period and it comes earlier. Sometimes it is combined with abdominal cramps, or a kind of abdominal pain similar to menstrual.

Nausea along with vomiting (or with no vomiting) is also one of the early pregnancy symptoms. Sometimes it starts very early. At this point you may feel aversion to certain foods or quite the opposite – you may feel very strong need for certain kinds of foods.
Headaches can be frequent as well. You may also have frequent heartburn.
Indigestion and often constipation, caused by a progesterone increase, is common at this early stage, so it is no wonder that your mood is not so great at this time. All those symptoms can be a bit annoying, and all the symptoms mentioned above may be accompanied with mood swings. It is all the result of hormonal changes taking place inside your body, and there is little you can do about it!
Your basal body temperature, which rises after the ovulation and stays at that level until the next period, may remain higher if you are in the early days of pregnancy.
As the days go by you may start to feel dizzy, tired and sleepy, like your blood pressure is very low.
These are the most frequent symptoms of pregnancy, and you should not ignore them. Sometimes only some of them occur, but nevertheless, it is still important that you react in time.
